Akany Avoko Faravohitra
Akany Avoko Faravohitra is an inspirational children's refuge in Madagascar caring for destitute, abandoned and neglected girls. The centre provides a safe haven, stable home, love, care and education to girls in need regardless of their background.

Akany Avoko Faravohitra. "Akany" means centre, "Avoko" is the name of a Madagascar Flower and "Faravohitra" is the suburb of Antananarivo, the capital city of Madagascar. It was founded in 1963 after extensive flooding in Antananarivo. It is a large house sitting high on the hill as a safe haven for Girls (5-18 years) to be cared for and educated. The girls are placed by the judges at the juvenile court for their own safety. The house had fallen into disrepair but has been renovated and re-opened under the leadership of the centre director Madame Ivelohanta Razafindrasoa. The centre is now home to more than 60 girls and supports more girls while the re-integrate into society. Funds are urgently required to support the the annual running costs of the centre and ensure the love and support the provided to the girls can continue into the future. Donations are very much appreciated.
